A Change of Plans

Yesterday I was suppose to referee the game between USA and Bahamas.  Unfortunately, it just wasn't to be. A couple of days ago I started to get a tickle in my throat.  By Wednesday it was the full-blow flu complete with fever, body aches and hacking cough.  After not getting any sleep Wednesday night, I felt so weak and exhausted.  After speaking with the director of officials, it was decided that it was best to remove me from the game.  You can imagine how disappointing and frustrating this was for me, but I knew it was the best decision for everyone involved.  So now...I have to re-focus and get healthy so I am ready for my next opportunity.
